Just in: Images of Port in China Showcase Rapid Revisit Capabilities

Back to News

These images were taken with BlackSky’s Globals 1-2 satellites of the port at Dalian, Liaoning, China on April 8, 28, and May 13, 2019.

Port monitoring from space is one of BlackSky’s strong suits – our point-target imaging system enables rapid revisit over a target – which gives users the means to constantly monitor changes at the port.

Note here the changes in dock construction at the innermost part of the harbor, the movement of cranes, and even the flow of ships out in the bay.

Establishing a pattern-of-activity for a facility simply cannot occur with just one or two shots a year – persistent monitoring is key to true understanding of a site.
